High-frequency electrosmog (HF)
The pulse-modulated high-frequency fields are sometimes very aggressive radiation, usually in a frequency spectrum from 1.8 GHz to 5 GHz. Or rather, that is not entirely correct, because radar, for example – as well as some military frequencies – but also the new 5G frequencies, operate at an even higher frequency.
It is pulse-modulated because it is not a continuous signal, but rather many small individual pulses are fired. For our body, this is comparable to a very fast stroboscope disco flash, as used in discos in the past.
The unit of measurement is microwatt/m2, and it is the electromagnetic flux density that is measured (due to the high “peaks” of the individual pulses, basically only mean values can be measured – in other words, the exposure is usually significantly higher than can actually be measured). It is electromagnetic because at this high frequency range (over 1GHz) it is no longer possible to distinguish between electric and magnetic fields.
The common sources of radiation in our living spaces are WiFi, GSM mobile communications, DECT cordless phones, Bluetooth, LTE mobile communications, as well as satellite communications and radar (particularly strong in airport and harbor regions). WLAN and DECT usually transmit at around 2.4GHz (+5GHz), i.e. exactly in the biological window of humans. A microwave oven, for example, also emits at 2.4 GHz. It should therefore be clear to everyone that this type of radiation cannot be healthy for our bodies.
What is so harmful about high-frequency radiation?
Entire books could be written about the harmful effects of high-frequency electrosmog – and have already been written. Among the most important – because they are the gateway for all sorts of subsequent symptoms – are probably the disruption of melatonin production and thus of the entire endocrine system, the depolarization of cells, the opening of the blood-brain barrier, the alteration of DNA, as well as disorders of the autonomic nervous system, blood cluster formation, and much more.
Common symptoms caused by high-frequency electrosmog include all types of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatism, ALS, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, cancer, high blood pressure, extrasystole (severe cardiac arrhythmias disturbances), weakness, dizziness, nervousness – to neuronal failures, burn out, hyperactivity, nervousness, depression, skin irritations, anemia, headache/migraine, childlessness, and much more.
All research in this area is – even if it is not embellished by economic interests and pushed in one direction – basically only short-term empirical values that suggest a trend. Because of the novelty of this radiation, there are simply no long-term tests available.
Our bodies are not designed or prepared for this radiation invasion. So it is no wonder that more and more people are becoming very ill and that conventional medicine has no solutions. The current guidelines are based on thermal criteria rather than biological ones. So is the radiation strong enough to burn me? If it isn’t, everything is ok… That’s a bit like throwing a fly agaric at your head and seeing if it causes you any harm. If not, eating the mushroom is probably harmless too…
From 1953 to 1975, the Russian government irradiated the American embassy in Moscow with microwaves. In this way, they wanted to eavesdrop on conversations and test the effect of their microwave weapons on the 4800 embassy employees. This is officially known. As a result, many of the employees there became very ill or died. The radiation intensity of the frequencies used was far lower than the officially applicable limits today. And significantly lower than, for example, carrying an active cell phone on your body or using it to make a call. That should give you something to think about.
How can I protect myself from continuous high-frequency radiation?
1. » Update DECT phones
First of all, you should update your DECT phone to the latest version. This means disposing of the old phone and purchasing a newer one that works in the so-called Eco Plus mode. These “low-radiation” phones only emit radiation when a call is actually in progress, but not otherwise. Older devices sometimes transmit continuously – and the base station is in constant contact with the handsets. This results in a constant exposure in many homes, which is sometimes stronger than a cell phone transmission tower in the immediate vicinity. In offices or at fixed workplaces, you should use a corded telephone, because even if the newer DECT phones have lower radiation, they still expose the body to radiation during a phone call.
2. » Switch off Wi-Fi at night
Another source of constant radiation in most homes is Wi-Fi. In some cases, there are quite a few repeaters in the houses, so that Wi-Fi can actually be received in every corner. I generally recommend deactivating the Wi-Fi at night. You can immediately feel a sense of calm in the room when you turn it off, and especially at night it is important not to disturb the body.
3. » No active cell phones in the bedroom
If you use your phone as an alarm clock, there is basically no problem as long as the flight mode is activated. This disconnects all connections and the cell phone no longer tries to log into LTE, GSM or Wi-Fi networks. If the cell phone is active at night, very high and harmful fields can sometimes arise, leading to various physical complaints and restless sleep. The alarm clock will still work, but it won’t do any harm.
4. No baby monitors or surveillance blankets, cameras, etc.
Most baby monitors also transmit at a very high pulse-modulated frequency or use a Wi-Fi network. The same applies to surveillance cameras and blankets for toddlers. If you cannot or do not want to do without a baby monitor, we recommend a baby monitor from AngelCare. These devices only activate when there is movement and then switch off the transmission immediately. Most of the other devices tend to make your child sleep restlessly and thus promote so-called “cry babies”. Likewise, RF radiation can open the blood-brain barrier of young children, allowing toxins to enter the brain.
5. » Shielding fabrics, paints and textiles
There is a whole range of products for effectively shielding RF radiation. For example, it makes sense to paint an exterior wall on the inside with a shielding paint if there is an LTE transmitting antenna nearby or strong radiation is coming from the neighborhood. Likewise, there are special curtain fabrics that almost completely shield radiation coming through the window. For example, I myself have a special RF fabric under the wooden floor in my bedroom, which reduces the radiation from a router on the floor below to a tolerable minimum. The advantage of RF shielding is that it does not need to be grounded. People who are very sensitive to radiation can sleep under a canopy made of RF shielding fabrics and thus find the peace and quiet they long for.
6. » Harmonization modules and tools
Due to the tremendous variety of radiation sources to which we are constantly exposed, it is virtually impossible to protect oneself effectively by shielding or switching off one’s own devices alone. There will always be a good deal of external exposure that we pick up at work, in public buildings, on the street, or elsewhere.

From a building biology perspective, I recommend taking into account all the points discussed above – in other words, switch off Wi-Fi at night, update your DECT phone to the latest version – or switch to a cable solution, switch your cell phone to flight mode at night, if necessary use a wall shield / curtains and additionally a harmonization module that neutralizes the residual stress in the body and also compensates for all geopathic disturbances.
